Privacy Policy
RealSize turns a photo of a thing into a 3D model and shows it in your room at its real size. This policy explains what data that needs, where it goes and how long we keep it. We don't sell your data, we don't show ads and we don't track you across other apps or websites.
Photos you turn into 3D models
When you make a model from a photo, the app uploads that photo, the point you tapped, the outline of the thing you picked and the size you typed to our servers (Google Firebase, United States). The photo is sent to our processing provider fal.ai (United States), which runs the 3D model (Meta SAM 3D Objects) and returns the model to us. We use the photo only to build your model.
Uploaded photos and the models made from them are deleted from our servers automatically within 30 days. To answer the same request faster, we keep the 3D shape made from a photo (not the photo itself) for up to 180 days. The models you keep in "My items" are stored on your phone.
Scans
When you scan something with your camera, the photos are taken and turned into a model entirely on your phone. Scans are not uploaded unless you share them yourself.
Sharing from other apps
When you share a listing to RealSize from Safari or another app, the page's photo and text are read on your phone to find the item and its size. Nothing is sent to us until you make a 3D model from it in the app.
Account and limits
RealSize creates an anonymous account (a random ID, no name, email or password). To keep the one free model per device fair, the app stores a random device ID in your phone's keychain and uses Apple's DeviceCheck service, which lets us mark a device without learning who you are. We keep counters of how many models were made per account and device.
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to know whether your anonymous account has an active RealSize Pro subscription. We never see your payment details.
Usage statistics
We use Google Firebase Analytics to count how the app is used, for example how many people make a model or place one in their room, so we can improve it. It does not use the advertising identifier and is not used to track you across apps.
Photos and videos you record
Photos and videos you take in the room view stay on your phone. They are saved or shared only when you choose to, using the iOS share sheet.
Children
RealSize is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Your choices and rights
You can delete the models on your phone at any time in "My items". To have the data linked to your anonymous account deleted from our servers sooner, or to ask what we hold, write to us with the subject "Privacy". Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK or California) you may have further rights to access, correct, delete or object to the processing of your data, and to complain to your data protection authority.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app.
